Sibyl walk - Saturday, 21 October 2023

This year, the traditional walk that brings the Chinon AOC harvest to a close in Panzoult has been renamed the Sibyl Walk. Known as the "Randonnée de la Bernache" before, it was becoming difficult to supply in terms of quantity and, above all, quality over the period of the event.

The Panzoult winegrowers have therefore decided to showcase their rosé and red wines at this sporting event.

With the help of the Club Cyclo de Ste Maure de Touraine and this year also Touraine Evènement Sport, the winegrowers offered participants 2 walking routes of 8 or 12 km and 4 cycling routes of 20, 30, 40 and 45 km through the vineyards and woods of Panzoult and Cravant-les-Coteaux.

At the finish, each participant received a traditional "fouée garnie", baked in the cellar's oven, and a drink served at the outdoor refreshment bar.

The 179 walkers and 170 cyclists registered for this 10th edition were not deterred by the very bad weather. Despite a short but intense downpour, the sun came out to celebrate the weather to everyone's delight.

Thank you to all those who took part, newcomers and regulars alike!

See you next year for another edition full of surprises!

FESTI'VIN 2023

With the help of around sixty volunteers from the Comité des Fêtes Panzoultais, Les Arpenteurs, fishing and hunting associations, Les Amis des petits bouchons, parents of schoolchildren, Les 4 Saisons, local residents and local councillors, a new edition of FESTIVIN was organised with the Panzoult winegrowers at the communal cellar on Monday 1 May 2023.

Around 2,000 people attended this traditional festival all day long, from the cellar, where the 2022 vintage was being tasted, to the upper level, where a market of regional producers and craftsmen representing their skills was set up and where visitors could taste oysters, strawberries, honey and goat's cheese and give or treat themselves to numerous products made in Touraine, and the lower level. In the lower area, several mobile restaurants were on hand, including Jacques ARCHAMBAULT and his rotisserie serving platters of meals, Kabumachou and its delicious fried burgers, Ma Fouée for the traditional and indispensable savoury or sweet filled fouées, and Estrella with its hot sandwiches and delicious homemade cookies. All working hard to restore hungry stomachs alongside a large barbecue run by one of Panzoult's associations.

Children weren't forgotten either, with 3 inflatables and an open-air laser-game to keep them entertained while they enjoyed an ice-cream or granita, candyfloss, crêpes or sweets!

The day was full of rhythm and music with the exceptional Banda Soiffée from Parçay Meslay and its 30 musicians, as well as the Charcuterie Musicale from Tours and its Blind-Tests caravan that went on until the end of the night!

The whole day unfolded in an atmosphere of joy and good humour, with the watchword being "Fun".

A sunny, lively and musical 61st edition under the banner of joie de vivre!

See you next year!
